Dr Garcia supports the 2nd Amendment. As someone who spent the first 11 years of his life under the communist dictatorship in Cuba, he saw firsthand how that tyrannical government banned people from owning firearms, and punished possession of guns with prison and even death.
As an ER doctor who has treated victims of gun violence, he is committed to working on bipartisan solutions to gun violence. He wants children in schools to be as safe as they would be in a TSA-screened airport.
Dr Garcia believes that Democrats and Republicans can and should work together to make our schools and our streets safer, and that it is possible to do so while still protecting Americans’ constitutional rights.
